Let the trading begin!

The engineless cargo vessel TRES HOMBRES will arrive in Charleston, SC sometime around February 25 with a hold full of chocolate, coffee and rum from the Caribbean. The organizers are planning a reception, lecture program, walking tour and after-party to celebrate the vessel’s first delivery to a US port.

They’re especially interested in talking to folks who produce shippable farm cargo in the Carolina area, as they are looking for trade goods that TRES HOMBRES can carry to Europe. A viable shipping route requires goods that can be profitably traded in both directions!

Not "wing on wing" in a square rigger... She's just running ... A fore and after on the same course would be wing on wing... 🙂

This is SV Europa with full stuntsails

I reckon its a Sydney 18 with its spinnaker out getting ready to jibe. But what would I know I’m a soldier.

Press of sail actually.

That would give the Black Pearl a run for the money....

It's a good day if you can allow all that canvas to stay out.

Downwind only with that much laundry drying on the sticks! Pointy end sail are doing nothing!🌬💨🌊

Breeze under 10 knots I suppose , and a competent crew to shorten sail at short notice...

Not quite broad reach on the port quarter but close to it.

Stroke...stroke...stroke, guess they missed this part!
