Come and enjoy a unique weekend in “The Best Little Pirate Town in Florida.” September 15 - 17th 2017. The Cedar Key Pirates in Paradise and pirate-friendly folks of Cedar Key on Florida’s nature coast are inviting pirates and pirate crews from all over to discover our beautiful, historic town and the pristine waters that surround us.

We’ll begin Friday evening with an officer’s call and a Meet and Greet. You will be introduced to Cedar Key Clams and other indigenous treats compliments of our local clam farmers. Cedar Key is the largest producer of aqua culturally raised clams in the U.S...There will be a cash bar for beer, wine, and soft drinks. You will receive a visitor’s packet and there will be people there to answer your questions and provide you with directions.

Saturday morning you may wish to participate in a grand promenade of pirates and crews through the quaint streets of Cedar Key. There will also be a host of children’s events to create memories and enhance the knowledge for our young pirate in training. We are planning a few surprises too.

We encourage our pirate friends to slow down and enjoy the scenic and natural beauty that is here in Cedar Key. Take a pirate-friendly boat tour of the numerous uninhabited islands visible within just a few miles of Cedar Key. Take a guided historic walking tour street of Cedar Key compliments of the Cedar Key Museum and Historical Society. Sit, relax, and listen to music performed at various venues around our compact village. Meet and enjoy the company of pirates and crews from all over.

Later in the evening, weather permitting, you treated to one of the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine. You can stroll over to Dock Street and enjoy special musical performers brought in especially with pirates in mind. During the evening we’ll have some special events and good pirate fun for your participation and enjoyment.

On Sunday morning we’ll meet one more time to say our farewells. There will be a lot of handshakes and hugs.

How many times has a hurricane affected the festivities? If you have the festival in September, you can always have it in December if weather is an issue. Yes, it’s hot in September, come on man, but it’s FLORIDA! ... See MoreSee Less

So... as we reach the end of 2017 and reflect on the past year, the burning question that comes to mind - what should be the date of the 6th Annual Cedar Key Pirate Invasion??

Second the comment on out of state travelers. If you want to draw from larger areas Holiday season will limit who is willing to travel. We would attend in Sept but never in Nov-Dec timeframe. MAybe Late January or Feb when ppl need sunshine??

The idea of after the hurricane season is good. But some ppl who have to work during retail season, arnt able to get the time off needed for a festival bc their company's won't allow it. Black out dates start on black Friday for most companies, and more ppl will not be able to attend.

Weather wise, the 11/30-12/2 time frame is better.

Later dates for cooler weather, us vendors enjoyed it lol.

I really think the later dates are a way better idea. It would make it so hurricanes aren't an issue. Also, it's cooler, so people can really enjoy themselves and the pirates won't get too hot. I attend every year and this year was by far the best because of the weather.

Late November/Early December has such nice weather.

We vote Nov-Dec dates. Not having to consider hurricanes is a good thing. 😁

Based on past experience- Sept. Too many other holiday activities people rather squeeze into Dec.

November 16-18

For the out-of-state travelers, the November date is too close to the holidays!

After Hurricane Season seems like a good idea. 😉

The weather was much better for us campers this past year.

It’s been way too hot in prior years! I loved this years weather due to it being later in the year.

Late November. Better weather

Late November. Otherwise way too hot

After hurricane season

Sept

Nov-Dec

We heard a few folks got to the last clue and cursed the person who wrote the treasure hunt.
You had to have found all 7 (Seven) clues, for the 8th one to work.
The 8th clue was a Cipher and that's all I am going to tell you.
However, if you did actually solve the last clue, it would have taken you directly to the Eye of Bawdy Anne, actually anyone who got all 7 clues passed it several times.
Thank you to all who took on the Challenge.
Alas, the Eye of Bawdy Anne lives for another year.
Huzzah.Don't forget this year's new treasure hunt for adults!
