A non profit group of pirates supporting Southwest Louisiana through re-enactments and more!

We stage re-enactments at schools, conventions and more. Interested parties should contact the Re-enactment Chairman Keith Jagneaux, - or Mark Lavergne,  and they put the word out to the other Buccaneers.
How we participate is dictated by the situation. When we “raid” a school we might read to the younger ones or we might be invited to eat lunch in their cafeteria with the students. Of course an appearance at 9PM at a casino would have a different approach.

We are visible at area festivals like Contraband Days, passing out beads, doubloons and other pirate goodies. Staging mini parades and street dances is part of the fun. We hope to see you and your family soon!

Mark Lavergne, deemed the Jolly Roger to be the tallest float. We blazed a trail down a few streets. Some of Lake Charles didn't have cable last night account of the TALL ship....

The Contraband Days Festival Changes Its Name
On International Talk Like a Pirate Day 2017
LAKE CHARLES, La. (September 19, 2017)
For six decades, the Contraband Days Festival in Lake Charles has brought pirates, carnival rides, music, traditions and merriment along the lakefront. However, the festival is entering into a new era, embracing all that is “Louisiana” along with the folklore and beauty that surrounds the Lake Charles area. With its new focus on Louisiana culture, it is fitting that on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, the festival is changing its name to become the Louisiana Pirate Festival.
“The board felt that this name change would be a true reflection of the shift that is taking place with the festival itself. We have incredible food, music and artists in Louisiana, and everyone sees this as an opportunity to celebrate the best of who we are as a people and culture. Right on the shores of Lake Charles, the Louisiana Pirate Festival will bring a more statewide appeal, moving past the 60th anniversary. It’s time for something new and different,” said Russ Grantham, president of the Louisiana Pirate Festival.
The festival’s website is currently under construction, and there will be an announcement later for the website reveal that will showcase the spirit of the Louisiana Pirate Festival.

Lived here all my life been going to Contraband Days as long as I can remember. My wife and I bring our kids and I even had a vending trailer and worked the festival, but that will not happen again. All who voted and let this happen shame on yall for being cowards to these liberal retards. Kiss our money goodbye for we will never attend this crap. If the Buccaneers support this I will never support them in any way ever again.

Wth?? After 60 yrs you're gonna change the name? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!!! After 60 yrs this festival (CONTRABAND DAYS) is known throughout our country as such travelers come from near & far to attend. Now they will be watching for Contraband Days to check out schedule of events & it will no longer exist for these people. What fools!!!! Local businesses look forward to the extra revenue this festival brings them. Will these mental giants pay these local businesses their loss of revenue?

Danette Hebert Hayden what do you think about this BS??

Stupid Idea!
